Third in the series of originals from the Romance Collection by local Artist Steven Howard. The landscape scene depicts Broad Street, Hanley, one of the original five towns of Stoke-on-Trent, portrayed in Arnold Bennett's The Five Towns novels and stories. In the bottom right corner is the former ground of Port Vale Football Club. A couple of kids sit on a disused coal bunker looking to the smog filled sky. A Spitfire fly's effortlessly over the thriving industrial historical City. Bottle Ovens and chimneys blanket the landscape as far as the eye can see.
